13 inning walk off win- what else is new?
A few observations:
Milledge shows off the cannon to gun down a runner at third. Wow. 0 fer at the plate tonight but I think he will be something special.Great heads up play by Reyes in the 10th to get Green at second. Reyes is starting to establish himself as a premier shortstop in the game. On top of his play in the field, he has apparently learned the skill of sacrifice bunting.Lo Duca got robbed on that called strike three. I have to say, I love the fiery temper. The look on Lo Duca’s face from the dugout was priceless. If he got a chance again I would bet he would have went deep. I love the intensity.
Jorge Julio in the 12th. He gets out of the inning 1,2,3 against our 4, 5, and 6 hitters? You’ve got to be kidding me.
Why not bunt Valentin over with no outs and a runner on 2nd? I realize that it is a moot point now, but that could have easily backfired. I don’t see any reason not to sacrifice with someone else (Glavine) bunt to put the lead runner on third with one out in a scoreless ballgame at home.
Endy drives home Valentin to win another walk-off; I don’t know how much more of this I can take.
