A young fan was hurt when he was hit in the face with a line drive during the first game of a doubleheader between the Florida Marlins and New York Mets on Monday. The boy was struck in the ninth inning when Florida's Greg Dobbs hooked a foul liner into the right-field seats, just beyond the New York dugout.

Gee pitches Mets past Marlins 5-1 for DH sweep (AP)

R.A. Dickey and Dillon Gee made for a perfect storm against the Florida Marlins. Gee rebounded from a wretched start and the New York Mets, back on the field following a two-day break because of Hurricane Irene, finished off a doubleheader sweep of Florida with a 5-1 victory Monday night. "I didn't know what to expect tonight, really," Gee said.
