Fan Opinion: Five Predictions for the 2012 New York Mets (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

With Spring Training underway and Opening Day drawing ever closer, the time has come to look ahead to what 2012 will hold for the New York Mets. Even with the past several seasons being disappointing debacles in which the team seems to consistently shoot themselves in the foot, I'm still a lifelong Mets fan. Every year, no matter how bad the past season was and no matter how bad the current season looks to be, I still get excited for the game to start back up. For me, the longest stretch of the calendar is the two months between the Super Bowl and the first pitch of the regular season.

Manager Terry Collins said Havens, a first-round draft pick in 2008, told him Tuesday that the back had been sore for a few days. Collins said the setback is frustrating for both the team and the 25-year-old Havens.
