Mets-Phillies Preview (The Associated Press)

Given the battle of attrition going between the relievers of the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies, both bullpens can be forgiven if they let the phone go unanswered. On Sunday, the onus will be on starters Jonathon Niese and Cole Hamels to work deep into this fourth game of a five-game wraparound series. The teams have split back-to-back 14-inning contests, with the Mets avenging Friday night's 6-5 defeat by outlasting the Phillies 5-4 on Saturday thanks to David Wright's two-out go-ahead single. "It's exhausting," manager Ryne Sandberg told the Phillies' official website.

Mets-Phillies Preview (The Associated Press)

Jacob deGrom can't be faulted for coming up short of his first career victory. The New York Mets look to finally give deGrom some support Saturday when they continue a five-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies. DeGrom has been outstanding through his first three starts, but they've all ended in losses for New York (25-29) as he's gone 0-2 with a 1.83 ERA. The right-hander has been backed by four runs while becoming the first Mets pitcher to have an ERA under 2.00 through his first three starts without a win since Pete Harnisch and Mike Birkbeck in 1995.
