White Sox-Mets Preview (The Associated Press)

With their lengthy skid in the past, the Chicago White Sox begin June with something positive to build on. The visiting White Sox look to win their first series in more than three weeks in Wednesday's finale against the New York Mets. Todd Frazier and Tyler Saladino each hit two-run homers as Chicago (28-25) overcame a 4-0 deficit to snap its seven-game losing streak with Tuesday's 6-4 win.

Saladino, White Sox rally past Mets 6-4 to stop 7-game slide (The Associated Press)

After tumbling into a long losing streak by coughing up late leads, the Chicago White Sox ended it by coming from behind. Tyler Saladino hit a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning and Chicago rallied from an early four-run deficit, stopping a seven-game slide Tuesday night with a 6-4 victory over the New York Mets. Todd Frazier's two-run drive was his 16th homer this season, and the White Sox got four innings of scoreless relief from their beleaguered bullpen to win for only the fifth time in 20 games.

Pirates-Marlins Preview (The Associated Press)

Jonathon Niese's case of whiplash has subsided recently after watching plenty of his pitches leave the ballpark in a hurry during a difficult stretch. Stanton is just one of the Miami Marlins to have success off Niese, who looks to help the Pittsburgh Pirates avoid a fourth loss in five games Wednesday night in South Florida. Niese (5-2, 4.42 ERA) has been great over his last three, going 2-0 with a 1.89 ERA after allowing one run in six innings of Friday's 9-1 win at Texas.

Mets 3B Wright given shot for neck injury, avoids DL for now (The Associated Press)

David Wright avoided the disabled list Tuesday, at least for now. Hoping their ailing third baseman can return in a few days from a herniated disk in his neck, the New York Mets optioned utility player Eric Campbell to Triple-A Las Vegas when they needed to open a roster spot for new first baseman James Loney. Wright sat out his fourth straight game as the Mets lost 6-4 to the Chicago White Sox.

Rockies shortstop Jose Reyes set for return from suspension (The Associated Press)

Colorado Rockies shortstop Jose Reyes will report to Triple-A Albuquerque for a rehab assignment on Wednesday, the day after he completes his suspension for violating Major League Baseball's new domestic violence policy. Reyes did not participate in spring training and was suspended through May 31 after being charged with domestic violence for an altercation with his wife in Hawaii last October. Prosecutors dropped the charge ahead of a scheduled April 4 trial, saying Reyes' wife was not cooperating.

Mets add Loney to lineup, send INF/OF Campbell to minors (The Associated Press)

The Mets optioned utility player Eric Campbell to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday, opening a roster spot for new first baseman James Loney. Acquired from the San Diego Padres for $1 last weekend as a replacement for injured Lucas Duda, Loney batted sixth and went 0 for 4 in his New York debut, a 6-4 loss to the Chicago White Sox. A fine fielder throughout his career, Loney was charged with an error in the second inning but later made a tough pickup of a low throw by third baseman Wilmer Flores.
