For the first time since leaving the New York Mets to join the Miami Marlins for a whopping $100 million, superstar shortstop José Reyes is returning to Queens. As a lifelong Mets fan who was also an ardent supporter of Reyes during his tenure with the team, I find myself conflicted regarding how to react. There is no right or wrong answer, nor is there a clear one. Before this day I thought I would cheer him heartily, until my voice was hoarse, but now I'm not so sure.

Fan Opinion: Top Five Villains Mets Fans Love to Hate (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

In the nearly 30 years I've been alive, I've been a Mets fan. From getting my first Gary Carter jersey, size extra small, in the mid 80s as a toddler until this very moment, I've been a Mets fan since birth. I've cheered them through bad seasons, bad contracts, and bad PR moments (here's looking at you, Vince Coleman). Even at their worst moments, I cheered them. In the few seasons the team was actually good enough to make the playoffs, I cheered even louder.
