Mets name Tom Goodwin first base coach (AP)

The New York Mets have announced that Tom Goodwin will take over as first base coach. The 43-year-old Goodwin just finished his fourth year with the Red Sox organization and his third as the team's minor league outfield and base running coordinator. He coached Class A Lowell in 2008, leading the Spinners to a 40-33 record.
